Description

Equine assisted psychotherapy (EAP) incorporates horses into the treatment process as partners and teachers. EAP is experiential and is an alternative to traditional office-based talk therapy.  It is conducted with a psychotherapist, equine professional and one or more horses.

Horses are extremely sensitive to our emotions and energy, and offer an opportunity to build
a relationship based on trust and connection. EAP addresses issues such as anxiety, stress,
boundaries, limiting beliefs, self-awareness and self-care, being in the present, self-esteem,
self-compassion and forgiveness. We pay special attention to regulating the nervous system
through mindfulness, body connection and awareness, and body regulation.
